The Ultimate Lowcountry 4th of July Guide (2026): Every Fireworks Show Within 2 Hours of Charleston

Jessica Cherie Blommaert · June 30, 2026

You don't need twelve tabs open to plan the Fourth. You need one. So here it is — every fireworks show, parade, and party worth your time within about two hours of Charleston, with the times, the addresses, the prices, and the local-mom parking tricks that actually save your night.

I checked these against the official town and venue calendars. Still, things shift, so tap the official link before you load up the car. Two quick notes: the Fourth lands on a Saturday this year, and it's America's 250th birthday, so towns are going bigger than usual.

✈️ Start the day: Salute from the Shore (free, ~1:00 PM)

Before a single firework, look up. The SC Air National Guard's F-16s fly the entire coastline on the Fourth, Cherry Grove down to Beaufort.

  • When: Starts ~1:00 PM up north; over Isle of Palms ~1:15 PM, Hilton Head ~1:30 PM
  • Where: Any beach, just face the ocean
  • Cost: Free

🏡 Close to home: Summerville & Berkeley County

Summerville — Fireworks & Freedom Festival

  • When: Sat, July 4, 5:30–9:30 PM
  • Where: Gahagan Park · Free
  • Parking trick: Gahagan fills fast. Park downtown near the First Citizens lot (200 S. Main St.) and ride the free shuttle in.
  • Bring: Lawn chairs and a small cooler. Leave home pets, sparklers, big coolers, and alcohol.

Goose Creek — Fabulous 4th in the Creek

  • When: Sat, July 4, 6:30 PM; fireworks ~9:00–9:15 PM
  • Where: Goose Creek Municipal Center · Free entry and parking
  • Parking trick: Construction has parking tight, so ride the free shuttle from Westview Elementary (every 10 minutes, 5:00–10:30 PM).

Moncks Corner — Independence Day Festival

  • When: Sat, July 4, 6:00–10:00 PM; fireworks ~9:30 PM
  • Where: Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Complex, 418 East Main St. · Free

🎆 The big one: North Charleston

Billed as the Lowcountry's largest show.

  • When: Sat, July 4, 5:00–9:30 PM; fireworks at 9:00 PM
  • Where: Riverfront Park, 1061 Everglades Ave. · Free admission and parking
  • Vibe: Live music, Motown Throwdown, DJs, food and drink vendors. Bring chairs or blankets, no seating provided.

🚢 Mount Pleasant & Charleston Harbor

Patriots Point — Fireworks Spectacular

  • When: Sat, July 4, 7:00–10:00 PM (a 20+ minute show over the harbor)
  • Where: 40 Patriots Point Rd, Mount Pleasant
  • Cost: $95 for flight-deck access aboard the USS Yorktown (sells out, buy ahead). Park closes to the public at 3 PM.
  • Want it free? This is the downtown harbor show. Watch for free from The Battery / White Point Garden, Charleston Waterfront Park, Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park & Pier, or grab a table at Shem Creek.

See it from the water — harbor cruises (book early, they sell out)

  • SpiritLine, Spirit of Carolina: a 3-hour, four-course dinner cruise with fireworks over Patriots Point.

🏖️ Toes-in-the-sand fireworks (all free)

  • Folly Beach: after sunset, ~9:00 PM, near 2nd St. East. Parking is brutal, so go early and plan to walk.
  • Isle of Palms: 9:00 PM over the ocean, Front Beach / Ocean Blvd. Paid parking at the county park, fills early.
  • Sullivan's Island: music from 6:00 PM, fireworks shortly after 9:00 PM, at J. Marshall Stith Park, 2056 Middle St.

🎉 The day before: Daniel Island (Fri, July 3)

  • When: 4:00–9:00 PM; the patriotic parade steps off at 4:00 PM sharp
  • Where: Smythe Park — a decorate-your-golf-cart parade with music and food under the oaks.

  • Myrtle Beach (~1 hr 50): Boardwalk fireworks over the ocean at 9:00 PM; Broadway at the Beach over Lake Broadway at 10:00 PM.

🎒 The local-mom packing list

The non-negotiables: lawn chairs, a small cooler, more water than you think, bug spray, a blanket, glow sticks for the kids, and a portable fan.

And the one thing that makes hauling all of it (plus a tired kid or two) actually doable: the EVER ADVANCED Folding Push Wagon with Canopy — a push wagon with brakes, all-terrain wheels for sand and grass, and a canopy that shades the kids while you stake out your spot.

The wagon's just the start. I keep all my favorite summer helpers in one spot so you can grab whatever fits your family: shop my favorite summer helpers here.

One more thing

Wherever you land, a blanket at Gahagan, a boat in the harbor, or your own driveway, I hope your Fourth is loud in all the best ways.

And if this summer is the one you finally make a move? Whether you're eyeing Summerville, Cane Bay, Nexton, or Ridgeville, you don't have to figure it out alone. Start your home search here, or just call me.

Moving from out of state? Tell me where you're headed. If it's outside South Carolina, I may be able to connect you with a trusted agent in your local market.
